Governance &
Steering Structure.

OpenAN is governed by three tiers: the Adopter Advisory Committee (AAC) for industry strategy and real-world adoption, the Technical Steering Committee (TSC) for technical direction, and the LF Networking staff for operational support.

Adopter Advisory Committee.

The AAC brings together adopters and operators across the telecom value chain. Members contribute industry perspective on real-world deployment scenarios, commercial-landing requirements, priority use cases, and go-to-market strategy — ensuring OpenAN's roadmap aligns with actual operator and enterprise needs.

/ Technical direction & release oversight

Technical Steering Committee.

The TSC oversees design and development activities, sets release and quality standards, mediates technical conflicts, and organizes inter-project collaboration across the OpenAN ecosystem. Decisions are reached by majority vote, with the TSC serving as the primary technical interface to the LFN TAC.

How Roles Are Filled

Defined in GOVERNANCE.md and CONTRIBUTING.md. Removal is by TSC vote.

Dispute Resolution

The TSC mediates technical conflicts, with decisions reached by majority vote. The TSC is the body to which the LFN TAC looks for interfaces.

Charter Evolution

Governance evolves through changes to the Charter, approved by the TSC.
